PART A – Recovery from Wheat Intolerance
I used to struggle with wheat intolerance — I never felt well after eating bread or any wheat-based foods. But in 2018, everything changed when I discovered Go Natural and was inspired to read Johan Jacobs’ highly recommended book, Go Natural: Wisdom for Healthy Living.
For my birthday that year, I was incredibly blessed to receive a home stone mill — a life-changing gift made possible through the support of my family. That moment marked a major turning point in our household. We began baking our own bread using freshly milled, clean, living wheat.
To my amazement, my wheat intolerance symptoms disappeared almost immediately. However, I later realised that I still cannot tolerate regular, processed store-bought bread.
In contrast, when I eat Go Natural’s real, traditionally made bread, I can enjoy nearly half a loaf — with absolutely no gut discomfort or joint pain!
PART B – Breast Milk: Abundance
A few years ago, I worked as a hospital dietitian, and one of my key responsibilities was to educate and support mothers in exclusively breastfeeding their babies.
When our daughter was born in 2016, I was highly motivated to breastfeed and was able to do so comfortably for two years. During that time, I noticed that certain foods, especially oats and papaya, significantly boosted my milk production.
By the time our son was born in 2021, our household was already thriving on this “king of grain bread.” I noticed a remarkable difference in my milk supply depending on whether I had access to Go Natural’s whole wheat.
At times, I couldn’t even eat the bread because my milk would flow so rapidly that my baby couldn’t keep up — especially in those first three months! Once he was able to handle larger volumes, I could enjoy more of the bread without issue.
Whenever I ran out of Go Natural’s wheat and couldn’t access any for a week or two, my milk production noticeably declined. While it was still enough to nourish my baby, the difference was undeniable. And once I got Go Natural’s wheat again and resumed eating our homemade bread, my milk production visibly increased. It was truly astounding.
No other food — not even oats, papaya, store-bought flour, spelt, or any other grain — had the same effect. Nothing came close to what freshly milled Go Natural wheat bread did for my body and the overabundance of milk production it facilitated.
I came to a powerful conclusion: if freshly milled wheat bread can have such a profound effect on milk production — something no other food could do — how much more must it be the most nourishing, life-giving food I can offer my growing children?
This realization has filled me with fresh excitement and motivation. I’ve restocked on grains and returned to baking bread for my family with renewed joy and purpose — to keep my dear family optimally nourished at all times.
Thank you, Johan and team, for your insight, guidance, and encouragement. It is such a privilege to enjoy this kind of wholesome, living bread in our home.
PART C – Our Son’s Speedy Hospital Recovery
When our little boy was just over 2 years old, he ended up in the hospital with an infection. By that time, he wasn’t really breastfeeding anymore, only occasionally at night… so I basically didn’t have milk anymore.
In the hospital, he refused to eat or drink anything… he only wanted to nurse… but yes, I basically had no milk left.
When we got home, I baked bread, and I ate almost an entire loaf… and wow, how amazing was this: that evening, when he nursed again, I had so much milk!!! Like, every suck was a gulp — not six sucks before he got a gulp.
He recovered so quickly.
“From beginning to end, it was a profound journey — experiencing firsthand the life-giving power of real, living bread.”
I want to wholeheartedly encourage every family — especially every mother — to invest in a home stone mill and take the time to nourish yourself and your children with real, wholesome STAPLE food.
It’s truly affordable. For example, you can bake a 1kg loaf of authentic, fresh bread for under R15 — likely the cheapest in South Africa. And it’s not just cost-effective — it’s delicious, satisfying, and deeply nourishing, just like our ancestors used to enjoy.
With proper nutrition, your body can do what it was designed to do. Forget expensive formula — your body is fully capable, you just need the right fuel. Time and time again, it’s been proven: nothing compares to a mother’s breast milk in building the healthiest, strongest children.
You were made for this.
Your children were made for this.
Let’s return – BACK TO BASICS.
